Would you like to enjoy some off piste skiing, aside the groomed slopes, through powder snow? Would you like to hike a mountain and ski down through untouched nature? The gondola station on the Dachstein Glacier on an altitude of 2.700 m is starting point of numerous ski tours. A rich variety of off piste skiing and ski mountaineering, in the high alpine surroundings is waiting for adventurers. The ultimate skiing experience for advanced skiers! There are routes with a difference in altitude of up to 2000 m. The length of a tour can be up to 30 km!
Ski tours are also possible with starting point Ramsau plateau or Ramsau Alm region. Depending on the desired level of difficulty you can choose your route.
On a ski tour, there follows highlight after highlight. First the imposing sides of the glacier with the great panorama high above the Ramsau and Enns valley leave a strong impression. Then follow endless impressions in the untouched natural surroundings. Tracks, turns, climbs, powder descents and views. Surrounded by the Dachstein peaks in the middle of the endlessly wide high plateau.
No matter how demanding your chosen tour is - never forget that you are in an high alpine area, aside secured slopes. Please do not leave the marked route and if you ski on your own, try to join a group or/and make sure somebody knows where you are touring!
Some of the main mountaineering routes are:
- Dachstein Glacier Crossing to Obertraun, Gosau or Hallstadt
- Tour towards south - Edelgrieß and down to Ramsau plateau
- Tour Hunerkogel (top station) – Koppenkar - Edelgrießhöhe -Edelgrießkar Ramsau
