Walking and hiking in Ramsau
Walks and hikes in all levels of difficulty on three levels! Ramsau is the ideal place for your walking and hiking holiday.
Plateau of Ramsau
Right on the plateau of Ramsau, on an altitude of from 1000 to 1400 m there are walking and hiking paths of about 80 km! Well marked roads, paths and trails lead through woods and sunny fields up to the alpine pasture region.
Alpine pasture region
The walking and hiking paths in the Alpine pasture region (Almenregion) are for both easy walks and advanced hikes, and most of them are suitable for families with kids. Many Alpine lodges, the view of the Dachstein south face and the stunning alpine landscape make an excursion unforgettable.
Glacier
On an altitude of 2.700 m lays the Dachstein Glacier, Austria's most eastern glacier. The Dachstein Gondel, with which you overcome 1000 metres of altitude within only 8 minutes, makes the glacier an easy to reach target for an excursion as well as starting point for hiking or climbing tours. At the mountain station, you can enjoy the view from the newly built 'Skywalk'. Not only the view of Ramsau, but also the panorama as far as to the Czech Republik to the north and to Slovenia in the south makes a visit to the glacier well worth it.
Schladming Tauern
