Climbing and Vie ferrate
Throughout the Dachstein mountains, there is a selection of climbing paths in all levels of difficulty.
Via Ferrata 'Johann':
through the Dachstein south face up to Dachsteinwarte. Level D/E.
Via Ferrata 'Ramsauer Klettersteig':
From Edelgrieß to Gruberscharte, always along the ridge of the Ramsau mountains. Level: A/B to B, partly B/C to C, very exposed.
Via Ferrata 'Irg':
in the area of the Dachstein gondola. Level: B to C, some passages C/D and D, very exposed.
Via Ferrata Eselstein:
over the south ridge of Eselstein. Level: C to D, inbetween A and B.
Via Ferrata 'Sky Walk':
In the Hunerscharte are, underneath the Dachstein gondola Top station. Level: very difficuyl. Many passages D/E and longer passages D, rarely easier. In the middle part very exposed. Very demanding climbing path.
Via Ferrata Koppenkarstein west ridge:
Rather easy Via Ferrata, peak is not too difficult to reach. Great view from the top. Level: A and A/B, some passages B
Via Ferrata up to the Dachstein:
The Dachstein peak can be reached over three different Vie ferrate. From the east: Schulter - ascent (B, 2 hours). From the north Randkluft-ascent (B, 1 hour). From the west: West ridge (A/B, 1,5 hours). Level: A/B to B.
Via Ferrata Gjaidstein:
Rather easy Via ferrata vith great panoramic view to the Dachstein glacier. Level: A/B to B
Via Ferrata Hunerscharte:
The easiest - but most demanding possiblity to reach the Dachstein glacier! Walk up to the glacier by foot. Level: A/B to B
Via Ferrata 'Hias':
Rather short, but demanding Via ferrata in the Silberkar area. Level: C to D, very exposed.
